Father’s Day

Happy Father’s Day

by porktastic on June 18, 2010

A Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers out there!  Most of the fathers I know can’t pass up the opportunity to devour or showcase their own juicy grilled pork chop or pork loin.  So if you are celebrating your father, grandfather, great-grandfather, or any other father in your acquaintance, take a look at this posts so that you are prepared for the weekend! Then feel free to fire up that grill, barbeque, or the truly man worthy pit of fire.

(Disclaimer: we guarantee you will love the pork you pull from the grill, but we do not guarantee you will still have your eyebrows if you choose to go with that pit o’ fire)

Let us know how your Porktastic Father’s Day celebration turns out!

This year, make Father’s Day Porktastic

by porktastic on June 19, 2009

Dad. The grill master. Mr. Marinade. Surely your man of the house loves pork as much as we do. So do him a favor – forgo the tie and electric nose trimmer this year. We suggest you light his fire with one of these Porktastic gestures that says, “I know, I know, it’s about you…but I really outdid myself.”

  1. Ignite the coals through the snout of your very own oinker. This pig-shaped lighter will heat things up pronto!
  2. Feed him this pork-on-pork masterpiece…a beautiful barbequed brick of bacon and Italian sausage known as “Bacon Explosion”. Need we say more?
  3. It’s true. We admit it. Sometimes, father does know best. Especially when it comes to knowing his favorite cut for the grill. So chop chop, and buy ‘em in bulk.  He’ll appreciate it…and you’ll reap the fruits of his labor.
  4. How does your man attack the tenderloin? Hot and heavy? Slow and easy? Whatever the approach, make sure he’s on top of his game with a fancy, schmancy meat thermometer to ensure a Porktastic taste experience…every time.
  5. C’mon, Dad, it’s high time you dress to impress. And when he sports his very own  “I Love Pork” T-shirt, heads will be nodding. Impressive.
