Nearly intoxicating pulled pork

Look, we know you’ve got things to do. Places to go. People to see.

So we’ve adapted this slow cooker recipe to our own liking. We call it “nearly” intoxicating because we employ root beer instead of the real deal. When this magnificent concoction is shreddin’ ready, trust us when we say we think you’ll be ready to celebrate with a cold one. And it couldn’t be any easier.

(Nearly) Intoxicating Pulled Pork Sandwiches

Ingredients:

  • 1 (3-4 lb.) pork tenderloin
  • 1 (12 oz.) can or bottle root beer
  • 1 (18 oz.) bottle your favorite tangy, smoky or spicy barbecue sauce
  • 8 sandwich buns, lightly toasted and kept warm
  • Coarsely ground pepper
  • Salt (if desired)

Preparation:

Prepare the pork loin by piercing with a knife or fork several times and season with dashes of salt and pepper to your liking. Place the pork in a slow cooker and evenly pour the root beer over the meat. Cover and cook on low until well cooked and the pork shreds easily (approximately 6 – 7 hours based on your slow cooker). Drain well. Stir in barbecue sauce. Serve over toasted sandwich buns.

Enjoy!
