September 2009

Surely you’ve been waiting all year for this.  October.  National Pork Month.

No surprise that we intend to celebrate. Big. Hence our 30 days of pork.

How big you ask?

These two words should be big enough: FREE STUFF.

Yep, we’re partnering with hog farmers, pork aficionados and fellow fanatics to give away FREE pork products throughout pork month – and we’re giddy about introducing them to you as well.

Gift certificates for free pork? Check.

T-shirts? Check.

Pig-shaped stress ball? Check.

Surprises up our sleeve? Check.

All you need to do is e-mail us at mr.oinkers@gmail.com when you see us post a porktastically hip giveaway and tell us what you love most about pork and Porktastic, share a Porktastic Nine-worthy recipe, or provide us with some other morsel of pork flavored fun.

We need to know why you’re deserving of more pork goodness from Porktastic and our band of merry pork friends. We’ll throw the best entries into a feed bag for each giveaway and select a winner at random. If your prose tickles our fancy, we might even share it with the Porktastic faithful.

And yes, we’re fully aware that October has 31 days…we’re just saving one glorious day for us to celebrate in our own Porktastic way.

Good luck – and may your 30 days of pork be seasoned and well marinated.

Apple 'N Pork Festival…complete with flying tomahawks

by porktastic on September 24, 2009

HEADS UP! Another dandy PORK FESTIVAL is about to begin.

Don’t let the flying hand axe scare you away from the porktastic festivities on tap this weekend.  In fact, we say hats off to the folks at the Apple ‘N Pork Festival for introducing an element of (controlled) danger to an otherwise blatant reason to indulge in pork – which we’re always quick to endorse.

Sure, heads may roll this weekend in Clinton, Illinois if people aren’t careful…but we say stick close to the gal serving the pork sandwiches and all will be fine.  This way, the only thing rolling will be you… headed home after a day stuffed full of pork.

And there’s more than just  pork, apples and tomahawks. Get all the details here.
